The Malaysian Chinese Muslim Association ( MACMA) Bintulu in collaborating with JAKIM Putrajaya held Chinese New Year open House 2013 ( Majlis Silaturahim) at Parkcity Everly Hotel, Bintulu on 19th February 2013.
Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister's Office ( Islamic Affairs) YB.Ir Datuk Hj. Daud bin Abdul Rahman, who officiated at the event , said the Malaysian identity of mutual respect and understanding should be maintained and protected. As for Sarawak , he said the people have always practised 1 Malaysia concept with different ethnic groups sharing their cultural celebrations with others.
Chairlady Hjh Norhayati Abdullah Lau said the ceremony is objectively to show the beautifulness of Islam although we live in a variety of community especially in Sarawak but we still together as brotherhood of Islam. Hopefully the good relationship and partnership with JAKIM and JAIS will continue.
Also present was Ketua Penolong Pengarah Bahagian Dakwah JAKIM Putrajaya Tuan Haji Hashim B Hj Salleh said he was pleased to see the good cooperation given by MACMA Bintulu and other agencies like Jabatan Agama Islam Sarawak,Kuching and Bintulu.
Also present was Bintulu Resident Tuan Hj Muhammad Yakujp bin Kari , Dr Wong Aik Luong, Chairman of Federation of Chinese Association , Pemanca Dr Francis Toh Chew Peng,chairman of chinese chamber of commence, Heads of Government Department ,Community leaders, NGOs, and others.Around 200 guests consisting of chinese.malay,iban The night was filled with Nasyid by staff of Bintulu Medical Department , Qasidah by students of Institute Tahfiz Bintulu. Not forgettimng doa recital in Bahasa Malaysia, English and Mandarin by Ustaz Wahab Ling of Jais Kuching.
The programme end with donations to fire victims from MACMA Bintulu , ang pow to children and also handing over of gifts.
