Halal seminar in medium language of Mandarin has never been organized by any agency in Malaysia at this moment. This seminar is the first organized by the Sarawak government agency, Department of Islamic Affairs of Sarawak (JAIS), to provide important awareness of halal certification and Malaysian Halal Standard compliance as well as halal industry opportunities. Various agencies in Malaysia and China are invited to present the seminar papers. Among the agencies are Halal Development Industry Corporation (HDC), Ministry of Health Malaysia (KKM), Ministry of Domestic Trace Co-operatives and Consumerism (KPDNKK), Malaysia Islamic Development Department (JAKIM), China Halal Certification Body, University of Xi'an, Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of People's Republic of China (AQSIQ). 3 of the speakers were from China and the others were from local.
Objective :
1. To increase awareness on Halal Concept and importance of Halal Certification as well as Food Safety and Quality.
2. To provide a platform for sharing experience and knowledge as well as business networking among the participants, and
3. To strengthen the role of agenscies and NGos in the development of halal and disseminate information of current issues to entrepreneurs.
